DESTINATION

Hoi an is the most attractive ancient town in South East Asia 30 km south of Danang. It was an ancient port town on the Thubon River. Known as Faifo to early Western traders, it was one of the area major international ports during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Hoian was an important port of call for Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and other trading vessels.

FESTIVAL

With a four-thousand-year old history, Vietnam has a rich culture with its own characteristics which are distinctly seen in works of art, cultural buildings or historical monuments. Besides, Vietnam’s culture is also shown at traditional festivals held to commemorate national heroes or to show respect to gods and spirits. In general, festivals are joyful and colourful events which perpetuate social customs and practices and bring people together. For visitors, they are good opportunities to have an insight into the culture of the country.

Along The Mandarin Road
The winding road along Vietnam’s coastline connecting the country’s important cities and towns has borne witness to many twists and turns in her recent history. Built in the 18th century by Vietnamese foot soldiers and mandarins, it was called the Mandarin Road. From the hectic traffic and fast business pace of Ho Chi Minh City to pristine beaches in Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Danang,... and historical sites in Hoi An, Hue and Hanoi, the Mandarin Road will be with visitors wherever they go. Visitors will set foot on a virgin expanse of land between Dong Hoi and Ninh Binh and find the local people and landscape exotic beyond imagination. Sixteen days of travelling along this backbone route will entitle them to tell people sometime that “I have been there and have learnt more about Vietnam”.
